We have been running sexuality and relationship seminars for over 9 years
Reaching young people at a critical moment in their lives.
When 2020 hit, it gave us the opportunity to work on a project that we've carried in our hearts for many years.

That was the creation of teenBRAVE.

teenBRAVE is a wellbeing program broken into five key modules with a series of video-based content, delivered in a classroom by the teacher.

Included are workbooks and group discussion questions guided by the classroom teacher. The key modules are consent, pornography, anger, the value of the human person and sexting.

teenBRAVE is designed to roll out over a term, allowing teenagers to unpack the information on a weekly or fortnightly basis.

Often, when teachers are faced with discussing the topic of sex and relationships with their students there can be some real apprehension. How do I talk to students about this? How do I do that in an appropriate way? What am I allowed to say? What am I not allowed to say?

Throughout the course, WE are talking to them about these taboo topics. Using the appropriate language and giving students scientific based information in an easy to digest manner.

We see teenBRAVE as the guide. Our course enables teachers to become the heroes, engaging meaningfully with their students one conversation at a time.
By equipping educators, we empower teenagers to make informed choices for their futures.
RESEARCH THAT MATTERS
  • By the age of 16-17, two thirds of teenagers have had a romantic relationship and one third have had sex.
  • Almost 50% of girls and 33% of boys have experienced some form of unwanted sexual behaviour in the last 12 months.
  • 90% of boys and 60% of girls have visited porn sites.
  • 70% of year 10 boys and 21% of year 10 girls watch porn monthly or more.

A COMPREHENSIVE EDUCATION TOOLKIT Engaging for students. Easy for teachers.
The teenBRAVE course includes over 2.5 hours of engaging video content, workbooks, teacher-facilitated discussions and online activities.
SEXTING
This module explores the
modern and complex issue of
sexting. We share the
research, the legalities, and
give students the correct
terminology to help them
consider the choices they will
make.

CONSENT
This module will look at
students understanding of
consent with a focus on
clarifying the confusion. We
discuss why consent is
important in all relationships
whether romantic or
otherwise.
VALUE OF THE HUMAN PERSON
In a world where young
people consistently see the
human person objectified and
sexualised it can be difficult
for students to develop their
own sense of value around
who they are and the role
their bodies play. This module
will consider the value every
human person carries.
IMPACT OF PORNOGRAPHY
This module will help young
people consider the impact
pornography can have on
teenagers today. We will
discuss the neuroscience and
research that every young
person needs to be aware of,
helping teens consider why
learning about sex from porn
can be problematic
ANGER
This module looks at the emotions we experience as humans with a focus on the emotion of Anger. We will look at why we get angry and how to make sure we don’t let this powerful emotion control our behaviour.
Our Approach
Our holistic, research-based approach will provide teachers with all the tools needed to help guide students through the modules, and engage in helpful and meaningful discussions around the content that is relevant to them.

With videos, student workbooks, online activities, and facilitated discussions, teens are able to interact with the content alongside their teachers and peers on an interpersonal level.

Teachers can rest assured they are using the right language and facilitating the right discussions for the best practice surrounding these taboo subjects, in their very own classrooms.

Students will be challenged to the core and leave with confidence to move ahead educated, empowered and equipped. Each teen will walk away with the tools needed to make great choices and bring honour, respect and positive change to those around them.

“Every teacher can play a pivotal role in empowering their students to make healthy and positive choices. We believe this course will provide opportunities for teachers to guide students into healthy decision making both on and offline. Our hope is for every teacher who has these conversations, to walk away a hero.”

"We'll be the guides, you be the hero.

- David and Katie Kobler"

One of the most important things we can do for our kids is to plan activities that forces them to get outside

If there was one thing I wanted to tell parents about this whole technology, social media deal is to put boundaries in place.

Put boundaries in place right away because it sets the expectations for kids to follow. So when I say boundaries I mean make sure your kids know how much time they're able to spend on social media and only you can decide for your family.

Set the boundaries means what do they have to accomplish before they get on their phone or before they're able to play their game. What do you want to happen before they're able to play. Another boundary would be what time of day, right? Of course, they're not gonna play at first thing in the morning, but at what time at night are we cutting this off. Again, like I always tell you guys, the sleep foundation recommends 9 to 10 hours of sleep for kids. So what parameters are you putting in place? Do you want your kids in bed by 9:00? Well, that means screen time need to be off an hour before that. So eight o'clock, right? So make sure that you're putting these boundaries in place before you're giving your kid a phone so they know the rules so that if they break the rules or they forget the rules you know that they need to get a consequence for that. So make sure that you have boundaries in place that is the most important thing about all of this. Otherwise they could get carried away, they could consume too much content, they could become addicted to the internet and those things actually do happen. So boundaries, the most important thing that you could do is put those boundaries in place.
